  The book On the Beach by Nevil Shute is a great book for anyone to read. I do not really like to read fictional story, but the connection between the characters in this book do not let me to put it away. I like the title of this book because every thing in this book happens on the beach and ocean.4/4(). This book is excellent I was so pleased with it when it arrived. My nearly 3 year old loves the moon and this book helped me talk to her about it. It uses real imagery from the moon. It shows the Earth from the moon too which is a good tool for explaining we live on the planet earth in space.   I needed to refer to another book, with an atlas of the Moon, to get the full impact of what Stroud was describing. This book has a place in the overall sceptic's library. It fulfils the interest that we have in science in general, especially astronomy and spaceflight, but also weather, geology and history/5(11).
